Be Prepared

I suggest that everyone who believes in the book of Revelation should have a plan set in place. Or even if you just recognize that this organized world we have known for so long, is slowly falling apart. I therefore offer these suggestions for the: Just- in- case scenario. Here’s a starting point to guide you on where to start: • Survival books such as: Field guides to edible wild plants, Edible weeds books, Outdoors survival guides, Mushroom hunting for beginners: The Mushroom book for dummies [stay safe] and more. Likewise I would have a survival plan all written out; with maps and a destination waiting, a survival back pack for each person (bug-out bag), with water straws, feral rods and those books (including the bible) and food and meds. This is why everyone needs a bag, there is a lot to consider, but to be ready now with a plan can mean the difference between life and death. I’m not saying if your right with the Lord your not good, but the fact is this world is an illusion that can fade in an instant. You don’t need to listen, but all the above could be thrown together in a week; in the consideration of your families safety really, isn’t it safer to not sorry. Likewise the ideas below, us as the Stewarts of this great planet can remind us that we have a greater role to play in Gods great plan for the future. When adversity falls on our backs we search for reasons, for deeper meaning and then we as the children of God rise to the occasions; for he wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve given some plans for success as is below. How too steward a forest while still using wood for heat, cooking fires and plants for survival. Mindful harvesting for not interfering with the natural life cycles and using the deadwood that is fallen to use and prepare for winter. The wilderness is a gift from God. It's an amazing ecosystem that sustains many lives. The wilderness has a vast array of diversity from the insect to the massive moose and each one is a treasure. Every creature in one way or another benefits from the protection and the sustenance of the forest including humans if we play our part. Now sustainable harvesting is not rocket science but it is essential for the plants and animals or tree’s to survive and continue, to provide towards our needs as needed. For instance if a total collapse of our society were to happen (just an example) we’ed need to find alternative ways to feed our families. Of course there is hunting as everyone already knows, but if we all run to kill all the turkeys (for example) at once, it would not be long before the turkeys would be gone. Same goes for fishing. Say we have one pond twenty full size families, all trying to feed their families with fishing at the same time. That pond would be empty in no time. O.K. another situation is going to go towards any harvest of any plant, including weeds. Lets say you want to harvest Dandelion roots, Jerusalem artichoke, sarsaparilla root or any other root plant for that matter, you need to be mindful of your picking. Roots are one plant you especially need to care for when harvesting, especially if too many families are doing so at the same time. When I pick dandelion root I will pick say 3 out of a cluster and take the large leaving the smaller one to grow. Everyone around the area where you live need to know these skills, and have their own gathering spaces to not over harvest and kill the plant supplies. If you do not take care to make theses efforts your food will diapered fairly quickly and so too the animals, you may want to hunt, or just love to have around; for they also rely on those plants. We are all a family of life that God created under the heavens; the animals, the birds, the fish, every creature big and small has a right to live. If you decide yourself to important, and become to selfish life has a way of weeding out the trauma on its face! Truth is that God made for us to be the caretakers of this planet therefore we need to be mindful when caring for it. In turn the earth will provide for us just fine for all our needs. Just remember that whatever you seek to harvest, you must consider carefully how you will do it, within the consideration of all the life that is living around you; for that will make you a proper curator for God’s great green earth. God gave humanity the ability to be highly intellectual which puts us in charge of caring for this great planet. Unfortunately because humans seek greatness in all they do they were easily manipulated by the evil promising them the world. People fell for it and have just about destroyed this amazing planet, all in the name of personal greatness. Selfishness has no place in an ecosystem like the wilderness. So men cut down the forest and build cities where they could display their wealth and have more than others would have; it’s devastating for the animal kingdom and so very selfish on humanities part; it’s truly a pity. Therefore if our way of life should fall apart for whatever the reason may be; let’s think it through this time and not just for ourselves but for all the life as a whole. May the next time around we’ll get it right; before the earth herself gets tired of us and destroys us all herself!
